25 Apr eCommerce Growth and Online Payment Hubs in Africa – Kenya and Nigeria

At African Payment Solutions, we already know what to do to provide a one stop facility, from helping our multi-national merchants try and do it.  We are setting up this payments ecosystem for as many viable countries in Sub-Saharan Africa as we can, driven by our client needs.

Kenya and Nigeria are our online payment hubs and key markets most asked for, where we have first hand knowledge, and customers enjoying ecommerce and mcommerce in these territories.

It is difficult for multinational ecommerce merchants to find this service in Africa.  We have customers consistently asking for it.  We have done the 6 month camel march with them to get their own internet merchant facilities in country and to be honest, it is not worth it.  Some of them are still trying to get it right.

With developed markets experiencing flat growth and emerging markets booming, we are putting down the technology links as fast as we can – the key ones are in place already.  We are working with global PSPs who are looking for Africa.  They have no idea how to go about it.  At African Payment Solutions, we know the turf.  With more than 10 years industry experience, we are doing this for our clients so that they can focus on their strengths.  We take care of the online payment in Sub-Saharan Africa for them.  They want it.  We support it.

According to the World Bank research, nine (9) out of the fifteen (15) countries with the highest rate of economic growth are in Africa. The GDP growth in Sub-Saharan Africa is expected to be around 4.6 percent in 2012-15 and certain targeted country growth rates are expected to be around 6%.

Conversations with travel giants SAA, SITA and Amadeus –  “they want Africa” now.  Boeing predicts annual growth in air traffic in Africa at 6% per annum for the next 16 years.
